Yamaha FX Service at Your Dock in South Florida

Liquid Industries services the full Yamaha FX family, including the FX HO, FX Cruiser HO, FX SVHO, FX Cruiser SVHO, and FX Limited SVHO, at your dock, lift, marina slip, or driveway anywhere between Hollywood and Jupiter. Annual service on an FX is $550, done where the ski lives, with a written photo report when we leave. You never trailer the machine to a shop.

One hull, two very different engines

Every current FX shares Yamaha’s full-size flagship platform, but what sits in the engine bay decides how it should be maintained. The FX HO and FX Cruiser HO run the naturally aspirated 1.8L High Output four-cylinder, one of the most durable engines ever put in a personal watercraft. The FX SVHO models run the same 1.8L block with a supercharger and intercooler, which adds serious speed and a stricter maintenance duty cycle. We service both weekly across Broward and Palm Beach County, and we know where each one wears first.

Why the 1.8L lives and dies by its oil

The 1.8L is a big engine working hard in a hot bilge, and in South Florida it never gets a storage season to rest. Oil here degrades from heat, hours, and humidity, and moisture that finds its way into the crankcase has no winter layup to be dealt with. An FX that runs year round needs its oil and filter changed on schedule, with the correct Yamaha-spec marine oil, not automotive oil off a shelf. During service we also pull and read the plugs, inspect the jet pump and wear ring, test the battery, and treat electrical connections against salt corrosion, because salt is the other thing that quietly kills these skis.

Supercharged SVHO care

The SVHO’s supercharger and intercooler make it the fastest thing on the water and the least forgiving of neglect. Clean oil matters even more on a boosted engine, the intercooler needs to be flushed and inspected because a corroded core can put salt water where it should never go, and plugs foul faster under boost. If you own an FX SVHO or FX Limited SVHO and it sits in salt water on a lift, an honest annual service is the cheapest insurance you can buy. We build SVHO service around those realities rather than treating it like any other ski.

RiDE, electronics, and diagnostics

The FX family also carries Yamaha’s RiDE dual-throttle reverse system, drive control modes, and, on newer models, a large connected touchscreen. When something goes wrong on a modern FX it is often electronic rather than mechanical: a fault code, a corroded connector, a sensor. We diagnose these systems at your dock and explain what we find in plain language before any repair is approved.

What FX service costs

Annual service on any FX model is $550. If the ski only needs oil, an oil and filter service is $350. Diagnosis and repair visits are a $200 call-out plus $200 per hour, with a $400 minimum per visit. Service on a trailer at your home carries no surcharge; dockside or on-yacht service adds $200 per watercraft. Everything is published on our pricing page, so there are no surprises when the invoice arrives.

We work on FX owners’ skis every week in Fort Lauderdale, Boca Raton, and Jupiter, and everywhere on the coast in between. For the rest of the lineup, see our Yamaha WaveRunner service page, or read what a full annual service includes. We focus on modern four-stroke watercraft, roughly 2002 and newer; we do not take on older two-stroke skis, but we are happy to give honest advice about one if you call.

Yamaha FX service questions

How much does it cost to service a Yamaha FX in South Florida?

Annual service on any Yamaha FX, including HO and SVHO models, is $550 at your location. An oil and filter change alone is $350. Dockside or on-yacht service adds $200 per watercraft; service on a trailer has no surcharge.

Does the FX SVHO need more maintenance than the FX HO?

Yes. The supercharged SVHO runs harder and hotter than the naturally aspirated HO, so oil condition, plug condition, and intercooler health matter more. Both engines share the 1.8L block, but the SVHO rewards strict annual service and punishes skipped intervals.

Can you service my FX on the lift behind my house?

Yes. We are a mobile service and most FX work happens right on the customer’s dock or lift. The technician arrives with Yamaha-spec oil, filters, plugs, and tools, and you receive a photo report of the work before we leave.

My FX has a warning code on the screen. Can you read it?

Yes. We diagnose fault codes, RiDE issues, and electrical problems on modern FX models at your dock. Diagnosis is a $200 call-out plus $200 per hour with a $400 minimum per visit, and most issues are identified in the first hour.
