Jet Pump Rebuilds for Jet Skis and Jet Boats, Mobile

Liquid Industries rebuilds jet pumps at the customer’s location across Broward and Palm Beach County: impellers, bearings, seals, and pump oil, with dockside pump removal included in how we work. Rebuilds start at $650 depending on model, plus parts, and every job is quoted in writing before we open the pump. If your ski or jet boat grinds, vibrates, or shows milky pump oil, keep reading.

When the Pump Is Telling You Something

A jet pump is a simple, hard-working assembly, and it announces trouble clearly if you listen:

  • Grinding or growling from the rear of the hull, at idle or under load. Usually bearings on their way out.
  • Vibration through the footwells or hull that rises with RPM. A damaged impeller or worn bearing running out of true.
  • Milky or gray pump oil. Water past the seals. The oil should be clean; once it emulsifies, the bearings are running on borrowed time.
  • Play in the impeller shaft. Any wiggle you can feel by hand means the tolerances are gone.

Run a pump like this and the failure mode gets expensive: seized bearings, a destroyed pump housing, and in the worst cases driveshaft and carbon seal damage that puts water in the hull. Caught early, a rebuild is routine work.

What Our Rebuild Includes

We pull the pump, strip it, and rebuild it with new bearings, seals, and fresh pump oil, inspecting the impeller, wear ring, driveshaft splines, and carbon seal while everything is apart. Impellers are trued, reconditioned, or replaced based on measured condition, not guesswork. If the wear ring is scored we replace it in the same job, since the pump is already on the bench; that work has its own page at wear ring replacement. Reassembly is torqued to spec, sealed properly, and finished with a water test.

Dockside Pump Removal Is Normal for Us

Most shops want the boat on a trailer in their yard for two weeks. We remove pumps at the dock, on the lift, on your trailer, or on board a yacht for tenders and skis carried in a garage. The pump comes off the transom, the rebuild happens on our bench, and the reinstall and test run happen back at your location. Trailer work carries no surcharge; dockside or on-yacht service adds $200 per watercraft. This applies to jet skis and to jet boats alike, and twin-engine boats simply mean two pumps and honest math.

Pricing Without Games

Pump rebuilds start at $650 depending on the model, plus parts, and you approve the full quote before we begin. If the symptoms are ambiguous, we start with diagnosis instead: $200 call-out plus $200 per hour with a $400 minimum per visit, which gets you a firm written answer on whether you need a bearing kit, an impeller, a wear ring, or nothing at all. Our complete rate card is on the pricing page. We work on modern four-stroke watercraft, roughly 2002 and newer; we do not take on older two-strokes, though we are glad to offer honest advice if you call about one.

Where We Rebuild Pumps

Anywhere on the coast from Hollywood to Jupiter. Pump work takes us weekly to Fort Lauderdale docks, the deepwater canals of Lighthouse Point, and marinas in West Palm Beach. For maintenance beyond the pump, start at our jet ski service page, and Sea-Doo owners can go straight to the Sea-Doo hub.

Jet Pump Rebuild FAQs

How much does a jet pump rebuild cost?

Rebuilds start at $650 depending on the model, plus parts, quoted in writing before work begins. Twin-engine jet boats have two pumps, and each is quoted on its own condition.

What does milky pump oil mean?

Water has gotten past the pump seals and mixed with the oil. The bearings are no longer properly protected and will fail if the ski keeps running. It is the clearest early warning a pump gives, and the cheapest point at which to fix it.

Do I have to trailer my boat to you?

No. We remove the pump at your dock, lift, trailer, or yacht, rebuild it on our bench, and reinstall and water test at your location. Trailer visits have no surcharge; dockside or on-yacht service adds $200 per watercraft.

Is it worth rebuilding, or should I just ride it until it quits?

Rebuild it. A noisy bearing today is a routine job from $650; a seized pump can take out the housing, driveshaft, and carbon seal, and a failed carbon seal can put water in the hull. Waiting only raises the bill.
